PRIVATE LESSONS

We will work together to come up with a series of lessons that builds on current knowledge and exposes the artist to new approaches that can expand their creative toolbox. These sessions can take place at my studio, at your space (Gloucester only), or online. For 1-3 students. $75/hour per student

WORKSHOPS

Below is a sampling of workshops I have conducted through the Montserrat College of Art and the Rocky Neck Art Colony. If interested in having me run a workshop for your organization please contact me.

Drawing with Power

In this two-day workshop, we will focus on developing a sense of believability in your drawings that comes from partnering accuracy with a drive to push your materials and approach. Working with a combination of charcoal and pastel, or materials of your choice, we will focus on building a strong foundation of composition and visual measuring that allows us to take the risks necessary for a truly personal vision.

Some experience with drawing is helpful.

Color Theory for Artists

Color is the music of art, and understanding how to arrange the color notes is necessary to develop images with a cohesive composition. In this workshop we will expand on the basics of color to explore what makes an effective color scheme, how to mix infinite colors from a limited palette, and how to develop your color instincts.

Drawing Boot Camp

In this two-day workshop we will focus on accuracy as a way to develop a solid drawing approach. Through practice with composition and visual measuring we will create drawings whose sense of believability is grounded in correct proportions and perspective. Once the foundation of reality is established, we can work on developing a personal language of image making.
